AN EPITAPH FOR JEZEBEL is the first volume in the adult series, A Keke McCoy Mystery. The story follows an Atlanta investigative reporter who speaks for those without a voice. A female-owned strip club famous for treating its performers as well as they treat their customers. But when one popular dancer is ritualistically murdered, reporter Keke McCoy’s investigation won’t leave hers—or anyone’s—secrets safe, in the first of a thrilling mystery series by L. Divine . . .
When Keke starts looking into secretive stripper Monaka’s grisly death, she’s instantly caught between her past and her present. Through The Honey Pot club owner, Josephine “HoneyMama” Thibodeaux, Keke found refuge from the streets, earned much money from her stage persona, Brandy, and got a chance at a new life all her own. Her bombshell exposé about the club launched her reporting career. But it caused a bitter, seemingly irrevocable split between her and the only family she’s ever known––and also Drew, the one man Keke won’t admit she’s never gotten over . . .
At HoneyMama’s request, Keke goes undercover as Brandy to find the truth before political pressures shut the progressive club down for good. But Keke has to watch more than her back when she finds Monaka had an unshakable, dangerously elusive stalker, an illicit club sideline––and vicious conflicts with rival dancers. Even more explosive, Keke’s persistence is putting her at odds with Drew, now a police detective working this case . . . and the secrets she herself can no longer hide.
Now with the clock fast ticking down, Keke must tantalize the killer with the one lure he––or she––can’t resist. But using fantasy as a trap could put more than her pursuit of justice on the line––it risks ending her career and life for good . . .
DRAMA HIGH is a series of young adult fiction novels. The book series is comprised of 20 novels and follows the main character, Jayd Jackson through her high school life as she struggles to balance school, friendships, family, and all the drama that comes with them. The series contains an element of speculative fiction as the main character comes from a long line of voodoo priestesses and is a
priestess in training.
The series is told in the voice of Jayd Jackson, a strong opinionated high school student who comes from a long line of Louisiana conjure women. Jayd is continuously presented with both supernatural and practical problems in which she must use the teachings of her maternal ancestors (the Williams women, descendants of the infamous New Orleans voodoo queen, Marie Laveau) to help her solve. The characters attend South Bay High, a fictional high school where the majority of the student body and teaching staff are privileged and white, ultimately causing racial tension between the students and the teachers alike. The series is expected to contain forty-four novels, which will follow its main character out of high school and into college in its extension Drama U.
In this first novel in a thrilling new mystery series featuring former Atlanta stripper turned reporter Keke McCoy, a gruesome murder reunites Keke with the progressive female-owned strip club that once gave her refuge—in an investigation that won’t leave anyone’s secrets safe.
